Hugh Grant is a daddy! The actor welcomed his first child, a daughter, in October. Details are a bit scarce when it comes to the baby mama. Rep’s for the star have not revealed her identity other than to say that they had a short-term relationship that resulted with her pregnancy.
The same reps have told the Mail Online, “I can confirm that Hugh Grant is the delighted father of a baby girl. He and the mother had a fleeting affair and while this was not planned, Hugh could not be happier or more supportive.”
With the arrival of the baby, Hugh joins the ranks of the expanding first time dads club that has hit Hollywood in 2011. Here’s a look at some of the other actors who have welcomed their first new additions this year:
Mike Myers: The “Austin Powers” star and his wife Kelly Tisdale welcomed their son, Spike Myers, in September 2011. It’s already back to work for the funnyman who will next be heard in the film version of “Marvin the Martian” which will hit theaters in 2012.
Orlando Bloom: Baby rumors had already begun to swirl when the actor married his model girlfriend, Miranda Kerr. in June 2010. Their son, Flynn, arrived on January 6, 2011. Bloom’s latest film, “The Three Musketeers”, arrived in theaters late last month.
Bryan Adams: The rocker joined the first time dads’ club in April when his daughter made her big arrival. He said at the time, “I’m really proud to announce on 22 April, Mirabella Bunny was born. She arrived like all good Easter bunnies on Easter Friday.”
David Schwimmer: Ross Gellar is finally a daddy! The “Friends” star and his wife Zoe Buckman welcomed their first child on May 8, 2011. The actor announced her big arrival, named Cleo, with a photo on Twitter several weeks later.
