In order to become an efficient web designer, there are some programs that your computer must have installed. One of the most important ones is Adobe Dreamweaver. There are many different versions of it out because it keeps updating each year, so choose the newest one to benefit you in the long run. It can get expensive to purchase this program, but it is required to design web pages. Another program that you would have to have is Adobe Photoshop. This program allows users to edit pictures in many different ways and also create their own. It takes a lot of time to master this software, so be prepared to take hours out of your day to learn the platform and how to use it. If you are interested in doing HTML web pages, then you could start working on them in a word processor such as Microsoft word or WordPad.
How hard is it to find a Job once I obtain my Degree?
Finding a job in the web design field can be very difficult if you are trying to work for someone else or a company. Your best bet would be to find people around your area to create web sites for and also print out business cards. One thing that really helps out a new web designer is to create business cards and take them to all of your local businesses and let them hand them out. This gets the word out about your skills and also lets everyone know that you are on the lookout if they want a new web site created. Take the time to do your research before working for someone who you have never met. Craigslist is a good way to dig yourself into a hole that you won’t be able to get out of.
