Virginia is full of many great places for awesome tasting fresh seafood. One place that we made sure that we ate at one more time before we left was Tim’s Rivershore. The majority of the locals here that we met all made sure that we tried this place at some point during our trip and I am glad they all recommended it to us otherwise we may not have gotten a chance to eat here with all of the choices we had in the area.
Location
Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant and Crabhouse is located on the banks of the Potomac River at 1510 Cherryhill Road in Dumfries, Virginia.
Atmosphere
As you eat you will have an amazing view of the river and beach areas, which is full of boats, jet skis and people enjoying the water. It is a very busy and popular area.
The best spot to sit at is the outdoor deck seating or the torch lit tiki bar on the pier. You can either sit at the bar or on a side table and eat and drink. Being right by the water and the beach is absolutely beautiful.
The inside is nice too. On the ceiling they have a bunch of different advertisements and posters of beer plastered all over it. Red Christmas lights decorate the walls. Wooden tables with white outdoor chairs are located throughout the place to sit and eat at. The bar area has a few large screen TVs hanging from the wall playing Sporting events.

The menu is full of items from fresh crabs to pulled pork to shrimp. So no matter what it is you are hungry for you are sure to find it here.

I ordered the Fried Rivershore Platter for $26.95 and split it with my husband and it was more than enough food with an awesome variety. On the platter was scallops, clam strips, crab cakes, fish and oysters. The dinner came with hushpuppies, coleslaw, and vegetables. Then we ordered a pound of snow crab legs on the side for $16.95. It was a very tasty and filling meal for both of us.

Overall
I can definitely see why all of the locals suggested this place to us. They by far had the best seafood at a reasonable price in the area. I would highly suggest this place for people of all ages. The food, scenery, entertainment, service and prices were all above and beyond my expectations! I will be visiting Tim’s Rivershore again the next time I am in the area.
