As of August 29th, Epic has announced that there will be something called the Gears of War Season Pass. For those of you gamers out there who have never been to a sporting event and have no idea what a Season Pass is or what it does (I fear I’m only a few steps out of this camp myself), fear not, for this is just a clever name. No, you shall not be attending weekly matches of Cogs versus the Locust Swarm, but instead you’ll be able to get a discount on the first four Map Packs before they come out. Essentially, you’ll be paying 2400 Microsoft Points now, and then getting access to the first four Map Packs as soon as they come out.
A great deal for the gamers who are looking forward to what is probably one of the first “Blockbuster Titles” of the fall, a very welcomed break from all the hum drum summer drought of games we experience every year, you’ll be sure to want to pick this up if you’re into Gears of War and you enjoy purchasing the Map Packs. And if that’s not enough to sway you, the pack comes with a free, exclusive “Liquid Metal Weapon Set”.
