From Clearwater to Sarasota, Here are the Great Christmas Events You Do Not to Miss!

From the St. Pete to Sarasota there are loads of things to do this Christmas season in Florida. Trust me, you won’t miss that mantle of white this year with all the things to do around town.

Christmas light addicts, beware! Your fix can be found at the Pinellas County Florida Botanical Gardens. More than 500,000 lights are displayed over the flora that call this park home. Don’t be dazzled by the lights, or you’ll miss all of the shopping available at the newly decorated 600 block of St. Pete. Rumors abound of a trellis climbing Santa Claus, nativity scenes and even a “BAH HUM BUG” sign for all the Scrooges out there!

Historic Dunedin, FL is home to the Holiday Tour of Homes on December 3rd along with the Dunedin Holiday Boat Parade at the Marina. If you’re busy on the third, don’t despair! The Old Fashioned Holiday Christmas and Holiday Parade is Saturday December 10 th. You could even make a weekend of it and add in the Holiday Chorus Concert on Sunday the 11th.

In Clearwater, one place you can’t miss is Robert’s Christmas Wonderland, located on Gulf to Bay Blvd. An enchanted forest, and animated scenes overflow in this Christmas wonderland. Make sure to mark down December 2nd as taken, and scribble in the address for the Miracle on Cleveland Street Holiday Festival. If sledding’s your game then you won’t want to miss it!

Looking for a more “chill” environment? You could always swim down to Mote Marine in Sarasota where their Penguin Island Exhibit will feature black footed penguins! These “tuxedoed” birds will be on exhibit from December 1st through Feb 29 th. If you’re looking for a fancy party, then schedule in the Pinstripes and Penguins Cocktail Party on 11/18. I promise, you won’t look out of place in your penguin suit.

If you’re in the area, Holiday Splendor at the Payne Mansion is a public event at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens December 1st through January 2 nd from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The house is also opened during the Lights in Bloom event held at the Selby Botanical Gardens.

The Powell Crosley Estate will host the 15 th annual Festival of Trees. The event showcases decorated trees, a charming railroad display and other vintage items. In addition to the tours the Crosley Estate offers afternoon teas, plays from local theaters and scenic cruises.

If you’re looking for something a little more… FREE… then look no further! The Sarasota Holiday Parade is on December 3rd (7p.m.-9p.m.) Settle in with your folding chairs and sip some hot chocolate from some of the storefronts on Main Street, and simply enjoy the season. Get there early for a good spot!

With so many amazing events available along Florida’s west coast, it’s going to be difficult to hit them all. Just make sure to pack a sweater…along with your sunglasses and sunscreen!
