Fiproguard Plus for Cats Review

Fiproguard Plus for Cats is a topical flea treatment intended for cats of all weights over the age of eight weeks. How does this product work and is it worth trying?

Price and Availability

If you are a cat owner, like me, then flea and tick season probably has you worried in case your cats become infected. Unfortunately, I had to deal with a flea infestation in my cats this summer, which meant a trip to the shops to find the best possible treatment option. I purchased three packs of Fiproguard Plus for Cats for $29.99 each from VIP Pets. Each pack contains three applications, or three months’ supply per cat.

Ingredients

Fiproguard Plus for Cats contains Fipronil, which makes up 9.80%, (S)-methoprene, which is 11.80% of the total, as well as other ingredients. Fipronil and (S)-methoprene are the same ingredients you will find in Frontline Plus for cats.

What Does This Product Kill?

Fiproguard Plus for Cats is intended to kill fleas, ticks, chewing lice, flea eggs, and flea larvae and to prevent flea re-infestation for up to six weeks from the time of application.

Remember to Treat Your Home

If your cats have fleas, treating them with Fiproguard Plus for Cats will not normally be adequate in completely getting rid of the problem. You will also need to treat carpets, rugs, furniture and other parts of the home where your cats have been, as there could still be fleas in your home long after you have treated your cats.

How Often Should Fiproguard Plus for Cats Be Applied?

Fiproguard Plus for Cats should be applied once every 30 days if your cats are at risk of a flea re-infestation, not before. If you have multiple cats, make sure you do not share a tube. Use a whole tube of Fiproguard Plus for Cats on each cat.

Impressions of Fiproguard Plus for Cats

My first impression of Fiproguard Plus for Cats was a positive one, as I could see it working straightaway. Most of my cats accepted the treatment without any fuss, but one of my cats seemed slightly irritated by this product. But the good thing was that I could see visible evidence of the fleas dropping off the cats and dying.

Over the next month, I kept a close eye on the cats and watched for any changes in their condition. The product seems to have worked well, as I could not see that many fleas on the cats when I searched them and as the days passed flea sightings became less and less; nor did I see as much evidence of flea dirt on the cats’ blankets and other belongings. When I did notice a flea or two, it was usually dying. After a month, I re-applied Fiproguard Plus for Cats to make sure that the cats would be completely free of fleas.

Fiproguard Plus for Cats produced visible results for my cats and relieved them of their symptoms, after it had got to work. However, it was necessary for me to re-apply this product after 30 days, as I could still see the odd flea on them.
