Final Days of Borders

In the area yesterday, we stopped off at Borders Books where they advertised it was their final 5 days in business. The savings were shown to be 70-90% and the pickings were slim. There are no children’s books, well known authors to find, or puzzle books. However, their gifts section still had some plush gifts, blankets, and backpacks. While it was said to be 70% off, we had a pleasant surprise to find it was actually 90% off on the items we selected.

For those looking for bookcases, the price has greatly decreased. What was once $100 is now three bookshelves for $100. If you are looking for a cheap way to get some bookshelves in your home, it’s a great way to do it. Just hurry before they are all gone.

Hoping to find more great finds, we hit Dulles Town Center to hit the Borders in there, but found that it was closed. Apparently the Borders that we hit is the only one still in the area operating business. So check to see if your local Borders is indeed still open before making the trek. Everyday that passes, the pickings will become less. But this is also a great opportunity to start some early Christmas shopping. Just know there is no organization so be prepared to sift through all the racks to find your deal. Happy shopping!
