Fashion 2012: A New Year and New Fashion Goals

I’m not a clothes hound but I like to dress well. Sometimes I dress to well and my budget suffers as a result. When you consider how quickly trends come and go, it makes sense to hold out for what really appeals to you. With a new year comes new ideas and new goals. Fashion goals are no exception.

Wear More Fur
Not the real stuff, the fake fur. I love fake fur. Not only is it trendy but it’s warm. Fake fur comes in every color and style imaginable, most of it is machine washable and no animals are harmed in its creation. Plus it’s soft. Fake fur is often softer then real fur.

Wear Comfortable Shoes
I’m done with shoes and boots that hurt my feet. I don’t care how great they look. There is a similar pair out there that looks as great and doesn’t make my feet hurt. I will find and purchase them instead.

Wear More Hats
Hats are back in style and are trendier than ever. Plus they hide a bad hair day immediately. I’m especially fond of the new trend in fedoras so I’ll try a few of those.

Donate Clothes
I’m going through my closet and if I don’t absolutely love the item I’m donating it to Goodwill where it may find someone that does adore it. There is no point in hanging on to close that don’t fit, I don’t like or are all wrong for me just because I own them. I’m thinning the clothing herd this year.

Be More Thrifty
Instead of buying yet another black t-shirt, I’m going to locate, clean and properly store the 35 I already own. I’m not going to buy another pair of shoes that looks almost identical to the ones I already own. I’m going to stretch my clothing budget my shopping more wisely. That means if I don’t like the trend or it doesn’t look good on me, I’m going to skip it. I’ll spend the money on the next one.
