Fall is Here by A.M Torres

Colored leaves around my feet,
Brisk winds that can’t be beat,
Fall is here, so my heart’s singing,
With all the joy that has my skin tingling.

Kids return to school
Sporting the Fall fashions,
Warm sweaters and flannel skirts,
that are just simply smashing.

Hot chocolate safe at night,
Inside my house that’s warm, and bright.
I hear the wind push stripped branch trees,
As I cuddle down and go to sleep.

The colored leaves are red and brown,
But more and more keep coming down,
The yellow, gold, and orange too,
Are hard and brittle under my shoes.

Fall is here; it’s all around me,
Invigorating and so inspiring,
No more heat as summer ends,
I love the fall; it’s my best friend.
