Face and Hands Punch

Now is the time of the year when many of us have a blast coming up with creepy decorations and eerie foods for Halloween. It never gets old – trying to scare people, or at least shock them, with bats, ghouls, monsters, and witches. It’s fun having all of your friends over for yet another Halloween party. They’ll all dress up and head over to your place to see what’s new and different this year. You’ll die laughing when you see the looks on the faces of the guests as they go to get some green punch and it appears to have a ghoul coming out of it. They won’t know whether to run or scoop up some punch and enjoy it.

There are lots of recipes for green punch made especially for Halloween or even for St. Patrick’s Day. Green punch is perfect for the spooky holiday and even more perfect if there is a green face and green hands floating in the punch. It’s easy to accomplish the unusual punch that doesn’t look as appetizing as it really is.

You’ll need a plastic mask and a set of disposable gloves to make the special Halloween punch. The mask should be one of those which is a full-face mask and should be stiff rather than something like a rubber mask. Wash the mask and allow it to dry completely. On the inside, tape over the eyes, mouth, or any other openings. Do the same to the outside using good, sticky tape. Tint some water with green food coloring and use it to make the face for the punchbowl. Fill the mask about half way with water and freeze it overnight. If you want, put gummy worms around the head of the mask to give it an even creepier look.

Fill the disposable gloves with water that has been tinted green but leave enough room to wrap a rubber band around each wrist. Lay these flat on a cookie sheet which has been covered with parchment paper. That will keep them from freezing to the metal. After freezing the mask and gloves all night, remove them, then place them in the punch. If you have any trouble getting the ice out of the gloves or the mask simply set them in warm water for a few seconds.

The green face and hands floating in the punch is the perfect, eerie drink to serve to the guests at your Halloween party. They’ll never forget the frightful sight and, for a few brave souls, they’ll never forget that delicious punch.
