Disney and Pixar to Release 4 More Classic Films in 3D

Disney and Pixar have wasted no time announcing that they will be releasing four classic Disney films in 3D format in 2012 and 2013, which is sure to delight families with children and nostalgic adults everywhere.

This news follows word that Disney’s The Lion King has made more than $80 million in the box office in 3D as of October 4, 2011.

According to the Disney Studios press release, the following films will be released in the updated format:

Beauty and the Beast — January 13, 2012

Disney Pixar’s Finding Nemo — September 14, 2012

Disney Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. — January 18, 2013

The Little Mermaid — September 13, 2013

In addition,Monsters University, a prequel to the original film, arrives in theaters in Disney Digital 3D on June 21, 2013.
