Getting ready for the final season of their hit show, the cast of “Desperate Housewives” was spotted at a festive Kick-Off party in Los Angeles, CA on Wednesday (September 21).
Eva Longoria, Brenda Strong, Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman and Vanessa Williams all looked absolutely fabulous in designer duds as they happily posed for pictures at the Universal Studios venue.
Chatting with press, Cross revealed that she pitched a few ideas to the show’s creator about how she would like to see her character Bree Van de Kamp’s life wrap up.
“I definitely want to see all my men again. I’ve had a lot of men. There’s a lot of fabulous men. I want them to come back. Everyone. There’s just so many of them. Steven Culp to Kyle [MacLachlan] and Brian Austin Green and Roger Bart and I’m probably missing people, but I’ve had a lot of fellas,” she admitted with a smile.
And while Cross isn’t yet ready to think about the last episode, she recently said she’s glad that “Housewives” will get a proper sendoff, unlike many other shows which are cancelled without notice.
“It’s brilliant that they’re doing it this way. They’re going to take a year and give it its due.”
Meanwhile “Extra” correspondent Jerry Penacoli spoke with the ladies of Wisteria Lane at their Kick-off party last night and got them to dish their thoughts on the final season.
The first episode, scheduled to air September 25th at 9:00 PM, is rumored to open with the aftermath of a shocking murder that occurred in the May cliffhanger.
Eva Longoria, a.k.a. Gabrielle Solis, remarked of the eighth and final season, “It kind of goes back to one mystery connecting all four of us. And this murder of my stepfather provides for so much drama, but so much comedy — and all of us trying to keep it a secret.”
As for how they’d like to see the whole thing end, Longoria replied, “I think we should all drive off a cliff like ‘Thelma and Louise,’ but all four of us in the car.” Marcia Cross, who plays the conniving Bree Hodge added, “And my feet hanging out the window like, ‘Whatever you guys want to do is cool with me!’ So I’m in! I’m in that car!”
Vanessa Williams, who plays newbie character Renee Perry, laughed and said she hopes her character lives. “In my fantasy… I’m alive, so there’d be a spin-off!”
Once the last show wraps, the model/actress says she’ll be “probably picking my daughter up in carpool! It’s back to reality.” (Extra!)
Last month (August 7) ABC confirmed the end of their “Desperate Housewives” show with an official statement reading, “All good things eventually come to an end, and in the eighth and final season, the stakes for everyone on Wisteria Lane are at an all-time high.”
