Dallas Cowboy’s Fan Season Journal Entry #3

I am ready for the Cowboys to win there first game of the season, so lets forget the Jets, and move on. Let me start by saying, I loved the 49ers as a kid, the quarterback they had, John Brodie was a favorite of mine. That being said, every since the 94-95 NFC Championship game, where Dion Sanders grabbed Michael Irvin’s arm on that long pass from Troy Aikman with a little over 6 minutes to play. Obvious, to anybody watching, PASS INTERFERENCE, I have hated the 49ers. That play killed a comeback, that would have been part of Cowboy history, leading to 3rd of what would have been 4 Superbowls in a row. Yes, Aikman and the boys played bad in the beginning of that game, and yes, the 49ers took advantage of that bad play, building a big lead, but the boys were coming back, and that play killed the momentum. I can still see Merton Hanks, doing that head shaking chicken walk after returning the interception for a touchdown. Still makes me sick. Had the Cowboys won that game, I would not have to listen to the bogus argument, that the Pittsburgh Steelers of the Bradshaw era, was the best NFL team ever. Yes, I am bitter, here in Dallas, we love the Cowboys, and we hate losing.
Now, this week, the Boys, go to the Bay. I really don’t expect much from the 49ers, they have no offense to speak of. They managed only 209 yards total offense last week against the Seahawks. Had it not been for a kickoff return and a punt return, both for a touchdown, within a minute of each other in the fourth quarter, the game would have been low scoring and boring. Hard to say if they have a defense, they limited Seattle to 219 total yards, but it was Seattle. Quick, without looking, who is the Seattle quarterback? Yea, unless your from Seattle, you would not know. So, I guess this week, will be a better answer for that.
I think Tony Romo, will have great game, 3 touchdown passes, Dez Bryant, Miles Austin, and Jason Witten will all get one, and the one to Dez will be one of those rewind, watch me again things. Felix, will follow last weeks good effort with a great one this week. He looks bigger and stronger this year to me. The offensive line needs to play well this week, the 49ers had 5 sacks last week. Romo will not make the same kind of lose your head plays like last week. . Hopefully Romo got that all out of his system last week. I am kind of tired of the Romo jokes this week, I am sure he is too.
On defense, that is where the Cowboys need to be careful, Ted Ginn Jr., can fly. With the depleted secondary, you can bet Jim Harbaugh will have some deep passes in the plan this week. That might be the only way the 49ers will score. You can bet the Boys won’t kick to him after watching what he did to the Seahawks last week. I wonder how long before Terrance Newman plays, one good thing with him out, I don’t have to look at the back of his jersey. You get that view quite often when he gets beat, and that happens often. The decline of Frank Gore has been as fast as the rise. He was hurt most of the year last year, and the rust may still be there. He had 59 yards last week, averaging less than 3 yards per carry, he had 16 on one carry, after taking it from the totals, your talking maybe 2 yards a carry. The Cowboys, will hold him to less than 60 again. I do not really know if Seattle’s defense is that good, but I hope the 49ers are just that bad. I wonder how many games before Harbaugh wishes he had stayed at Stanford.
So recapping, I hate the 49ers, they have no offense, they have a pass rush, which makes their secondary better. The Cowboys win big, 31 to 10, and we all have a San Francisco Treat.
