If you have a little girl, you’ve probably heard of Belle, Mrs. Pots and of course, adorable little Chip. Princess Belle, of “Beauty and the Beast” fame can used as the theme for an beautiful and entertaining child’s birthday party.
You can easily find Disney Princess party gear that include dinner plates, cups and a table cloth. If you want to focus primarily on Princess Belle, you can use yellow table cloths to match Princess Belle’s famous yellow dress and red napkins to represent the red rose in the movie. If you want something with a unique flair, consider having a fancy princess tea party. Cover tables with white table cloths and set the table with china or buy stainless steal chargers that look like sterling silver trays at a restaurant supply store to use as plates. If you decide to have a tea party, paint a poster of the lovable Mrs. Pots to hang on the wall or paint and embellish an inexpensive tea pot to resemble the character. Buy a single silk red rose stem at a craft supply store and create the “Enchanted Rose.” Do this by sticking the rose into a plastic foam circle. Serve the birthday girl’s favorite dishes at her birthday party, or serve tea and finger sandwiches in keeping with the tea party theme. You may also choose to serve foods that can be labeled with clever titles such as gummy worms which can be called, “Belle’s Book Worms” or serve chocolate roses and label them as “Enchanted Roses.” Or you may choose to decorate food tables to look like the French market seen at the beginning of the movie and serve fresh bread, fruits and vegetables in natural colored wicker baskets. Use small Belle and other character figures to top a cake or simply top a cake with red and yellow roses.
Play the Disney movie, “Beauty and the Beast” to help entertain guests. You should also have the soundtrack available to play during the meal. Be sure to have Princess Belle and other princess dolls available for free play or supply a basket filled with princess dress-up clothes. Engage guests in creating their own tiaras. Provide strips of paper that have one side cut with a zig – zag pattern to resemble the points on a tiara. Supply jewels, stickers and glitter to embellish the tiaras. Another way to entertain guests is to hire a dance instructor to teach them how to dance, as Belle and Beast did at the end of the movie.

Use these items to fill small goody bags to give to guests. Or give each guest items that will help her feel as pampered as a princess such as scented oils and finger nail polish. At the end of the party, give each guest a single red rose from the decorations or give each child a “Beauty and the Beast” book or coloring book and crayons.
There are many ways to customize a Princess Belle party to fit your child’s personality and your budget. Here are a few more ideas to consider. Of course you can host a Belle party at home, but if that is not an option, consider other themed-locations such as the conference room of a local library to celebrate Belle’s love of books. If the budget permits, rent a limousine and give the guests a ride to help them feel like real princesses. You may be able to play the movie or soundtrack in the limousine while you ride around town. A birthday princess can dress in a beautiful party dress for her “Beauty and the Beast” party, or consider buying a Belle costume for her as a birthday gift and party dress.
