A Lion in the Bear’s Den: Week 9!

WEEK 9

Feel like I’ve been slacking in recent weeks on this blog. If you disagree- thank you. If you agree- stop being a jerk, you were supposed to disagree. I promise this week there will be more stuff on football, less lazy jokes and I will use proper finger positioning while typing!

CHRONOLOGICAL RANDOMNESS

Few things in life are better than waking up well before the dreaded 10:30am cut off that McDonalds has tyrannically held us by the throat with for so many years, and getting what I believe to be the best breakfast sandwich in the game today… the Sausage McMuffin!!!

I just don’t like Drew Brees. He doesn’t really do anything, I mean sure he’s good at football, but what else? I want a quarterback with the ability of a Drew Brees and the personality of a Rodney Dangerfield.

For my money, I don’t have any, the Chargers are the funnest team to watch on offense. Is funnest a word? Phillip Rivers, you see what happens when you don’t throw interceptions?

Pizza places have re-instituted delivery charges so quietly that none of us have noticed the eradication of free delivery. Where is CNN when you need them? If Andy Rooney was, oh you want me to use were MS Word? Okay, if Andy Rooney were still around this wouldn’t be happening.

I am watching the games and writing this blog on the set of a movie I’m in. I play a drunk wearing nothing but tight pink underwear. The bar we are filming in is open to the public, so anyone can come see me looking like a repulsive version of Brett “Hit Man” Hart.

Anyone know the record for most field goals in a week?

Man Aaron Rodgers has nice balls… I mean, throws nice balls! He throws them!

LIONS FUND:
(When I save enough I buy the team and lead them to the Promised Land.)

Last week: $0.56
This week: $2.39

Made a nice rebound despite the fact that I lost my job this week. Apparently as a Customer Service Rep it is not okay to put a call on hold and finish a crossword. If anyone reading this knows of any jobs in Chicago, let me know. I’ll give you half of my first check. *

* I need to receive more than one check.

1 THING FROM EVERY SOME GAMES:

CINN 24 @ TENN 17
The Bengals are effectively flying under the radar, which usually leads to success in the playoffs. What doesn’t lead to success in the playoffs: being the Cincinnati Bengals.

DEN 38 @ OAK 24
I’m kind of curious to see what the TV people are saying about Tim Tebow this week.

GB 45 @ SD 38
Okay Phillip Rivers, one more thing. Throwing picks affects more that just yourself. You’re hurting those who love you and look up to you and even draft you on their fantasy teams.

NYG 24 @ NE 20
Giants beat the Patriots and get to keep their Superbowl!!! Yay for them!!!

CHI 30 @ PHI 24
You can’t beat Philadelphia on the day Joe Frazier dies. That said, thank you Chicago Bears for making this weeks game with the Lions an interesting battle for second place in the division. Sorry it is not going to end well for you.
