Thanksgiving is the time of year to sit back and recall the last eleven months. You remember the good times and bad, and begin to really cherish the things you have to be thankful for. This year, celebrities have a lot to be thankful for as well. Here are just a few of what your favorite Hollywood celebrities are thankful for this Thanksgiving.
Elton John
Sir Elton John is thankful for Leon Russell. The pioneering piano men released a very popular and critically acclaimed album The Union. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard charts. It was Elton John’s most successful album in 35 years. It must be nice to be back in the center of the spotlight because of a successful album and not for spewing profanity at reporters.
Kim Kardashian
The beautiful and sultry Kim Kardashian has a lot to be thankful for this year. But she is most thankful for the 24 hour news media. Since news media is now a never sleeping business, media is looking to report on anything that might sell. Enter Kim Kardashian. The electrifying female knows how to work the media better than anybody. In October, she revealed her biggest publicity stunt to date. A blind siding divorce to Kris Humpries. The 72 day newlywed was shocked when he learned of Kim filing for divorce. But Kim gained another week of front page headlines from entertainment websites and blogs from around the world.
Lindsay Lohan
As the “Queen of Mean” sits at the Thanksgiving table this year, she’ll be giving thanks to prison overcrowding. In the first week of November, Lindsay entered the Century Regional Detention facility in Lynnwood, California for the first day of her 30 day sentence. Lohan had been sentenced for violating her parole. However, just a mere few hours later, the red headed star of “Herbie the Love Bug” was released to to high volume in the prisons. Be thankful Lindsay, because this year you almost spent with one hundred strange female prisoners.
Hulk Hogan
The former World Heavyweight Champion of the wrestling world is thankful this year for medical breakthroughs. After almost 30 years in the wrestling business, Hulk Hogan was in trouble of never being able to walk again. But after receiving 8 back surgeries to repair his back and, Hulk Hogan was finally able to walk again. But it doesn’t end there. Hulk Hogan was implanted with an electronic stimulation device that jolts the spine, decreasing the pain in Hogan’s back. This allowed Hogan, who is slowly becoming a robot because of these prosthetics, to wrestle on the TNA wrestling Bound For Glory pay per view in October.
Regis Philbin
This year, Regis Philbin is thankful for retirement. After 28 years as the host of the popular morning television show, Philbin will be going into retirement. This is several years after Philbin survived a near fatal heart operation, where valves were replaced. The 80 year old icon of entertainment will be remembered most for his wildly popular morning show with Kelly Ripa and before her, Kathie Lee Gifford. He was also the host of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,” a ratings winner on the ABC television network. Enjoy your retirement, and be thankful that it’s finally her.
Ashton Kutcher
Ashton Kutcher must be thankful for his handlers. The popular celebrity wrote a tweet earlier this month in support of ousted Penn State College Football coach Joe Paterno. Coach Paterno was accused of turning a blind eye to allegations of sexual misconduct with a 10 year old boy by one of his underlings. After Kutcher realized his mistake, he went online to tweet. He stated he would no longer tweet until after his handlers gave him the okay about what he was writing about. Ashton Kutcher is lucky to have a group of people to act as his filter. Can you imagine the things he might say next?
