Week Two NFL Game Predictions

Thanks for checking out my free week two football picks for the 2011 NFL season. I do weekly NFL game predictions suitable for your office football pool as I don’t predict point spread games. I went a not so stellar 8-6 last week (to be updated after Mon night game) and you can track me and others in the YCN contest here.

Seattle at Pittsburgh

The Steelers will be fired up after getting wacked by the Ravens. Seattle just does not have the talent to hang in this game. Pittsburgh 24, Seattle 10.

Oakland at Buffalo

Few people could have predicted the Bills dog stomping the Chiefs so now we wonder if KC is just that bad. Either way I do not like Oakland’s chances going that far east to play a team on a high. My free week two NFL game pick is the Bills to win 21 to 17.

Arizona at Washington

The Skins knocked off a depleted Giants team last week and Arizona had their hands full with Cam Newton. Not sold on the Cardinals defense at all so I think Washington goes 2-0 (is that a sign of the Apocalypse?) when they beat Arizona 28 to 24.

Tampa Bay at Minnesota

The Vikings are old in key positions but do have Adrian Peterson but Donovan McNabb is a shadow of his former self. Tampa went cheap and didn’t get any help for Freeman who will soon be a top 10 quarterback. I like the Vikings at home but barely, Minnesota 17 Tampa 14.

Jacksonville at the Jets

The Jags have some talent but are just biding their time to move to Los Angeles. The Jets fought a hard game and came back against Dallas and may let down a bit. But my week two NFL game pick is the Jets win 21 to 13.

Chicago at New Orleans

Last week the Saints went down to the final play against the Packers before losing. Chicago showed Atlanta that maybe defense should be considered in the off-season. I don’t see the Bears stopping the Saints offense this week. The Saints win 31 to 24.

Cleveland at Indianapolis

I thought the Browns were ready to move up a bit but lost to the Bengals. The Colts just suck without Peyton Manning but Kerry Collins is decent if he says healthy. Browns win on the road 17 to 14.

Kansas City at Detroit

The Chiefs have talent and a great front office. The problem is Coach Haley is an ass and I think the players are tired of his meltdowns. Detroit is improving but Stafford still seems brittle. I like Detroit at home to win 24 to 21.

Baltimore at Tennessee

The Ravens put a whipping of monumental proportions on the Steelers last week. The Titans barely lost to a not so great Jaguars team in week one. I think Baltimore may let down a bit but my week two office football pool pick is Ravens 21 Titans 17.

Green Bay at Carolina

The defending Super Bowl champs bring their explosive offense to face a terrible Panthers defense now missing Jon Beason. Cam Newton surprised most of us against Arizona but he is a rookie. Green Bay defeats Carolina 39 to 17.

Dallas at San Francisco

Two historic NFL franchises down in recent years that are perhaps on the rise. I like Dallas to beat San Francisco in week two due to better quarterback play. Cowboys 24, 49ers 14.

Cincinnati at Denver

I didn’t see the Bengals knocking off the Browns last week but I think it was a fluke. John Fox is steady and will get the most out of his roster. I like Denver to win 21 to 14.

Houston at Miami

This is the Texan’s year to prove something and this is the Dolphins year to probably get worse. My free week two NFL game prediction is the Texans beat the Dolphins 21 to 17.

San Diego at New England

Two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL face off when Phillip Rivers heads the Chargers against Tom Brady and the Patriots. I seldom pick west coast teams heading east and this is no exception. New England knocks off the Chargers 24 to 17.

Philadelphia at Atlanta

Michael Vick returns to Atlanta to take on his replacement Matt Ryan and the Falcons. In the offseason the Eagles went all in for a Super Bowl run. Atlanta concentrated on improving their offense and still came out flat last week. Atlanta rebounds and upsets the Eagles 34 to 31. Matt Ryan is money at home.

Monday Night Game Prediction for Week Two

St Louis at New York Giants

Two very banged up teams that ESPN is probably wishing were not playing on Monday Night. When in doubt pick the home team and I think the Giants win 17 to 14.
