We all think that the answer to healthy hair lays in a bottle or a jar. However, the real answer to finding true healthy, shiny and controllable hair may be found in your grocery store or in your kitchen. Yes, the foods you eat or aren’t eating may be the answer you need.

Food provides us with nutrition. Nutrients are what we need to make our hair grow strong and healthy. Yet, there are specific nutrients that we need for our hair. Do you know what these nutrients and these foods are?

Salmon

Yes, salmon is the best type of fish we can eat. It is filled with Omega-3-fatty acids, Vitamin B-12 and Iron. It can make our scalp healthier. A healthy scalp will make our hair stronger. If we are deficient in these nutrients are hair can look dull, lifeless and have little to no shine to it.

Beans

Beans such as kidney beans provide many nutrients that are hair needs. These include protein, iron, zinc and biotin. Protein is needed to help maintain hair growth. If we don’t have enough biotin in our system our hair will become brittle, thus breakage and splitting can occur.

Nuts

Nuts can contain a variety of nutrients, depending on the type you eat. Brazil nuts contain selenium that helps keep our scalps healthy. Walnuts contain an Omega-three acid known as alpha-linolenic acid. This omega-three can help condition our hair naturally and without leaving any residue on the hair. Walnuts also contain zinc, as does cashews, pecans and almonds. Zinc will keep your hair from falling out, which will keep it from becoming thin.

Carrots

Carrots contain Vitamin A. Vitamin A will help keep your scalp condition. This in turn will help keep your hair conditioned, naturally.

Isn’t it better to try to eat healthy than adding product after product onto your hair to try to get it the healthy hair you want? You can do this easily by purchasing the right foods for the health of your body and hair. Of course, then you need to also eat them.
