Valentine’s Day for Vampire Lovers

I don’t know about you, but the typical hearts and flowers and teddy bear themes for Valentine’s Day bore me to death. Ironic as it may seem, I turned to the grave for ideas to inject some life into this sometimes predictable celebration of romance. Here are some ways to bring a vampire theme to your Valentine’s Day festivities.

1. Get your blood boiling with the DVD release of “Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1″.
Target has taken the opportunity to create an event for this occasion. On Friday, February 10th, participating stores will begin to offer tickets for the DVD purchase at 9pm. At 11pm a special sneak preview of “Breaking Dawn Part 2″ will be shown. Celebrate Edward and Bella’s eternal love. Or just enjoy the shirtless wonder that is Team Jacob.

2. Sink your teeth into Vampire themed events in your area.
My hometown of Reno, Nevada hosts an annual Vampire Pub Crawl. Cities like Los Angeles and New York offer similar events for the undead. Dress up, get out and get smitten, or bitten.

3. Host a party that sucks, in a good way!
Dress up and mingle with your fanged friends in a not so typical V-Day fashion. It’s rather convenient as all the party supplies in the stores are currently blood red, and it’s a great excuse to break out those Halloween decorations you love!

4. Give blood!
Ok, so they aren’t going to nibble on your neck (we hope). But your donation can truly save lives. Give yourself that warm fuzzy feeling this Valentine’s Day by passing along the gift of life to others.
