Unique Ways to Display Jar Candles

Jar candles are one of the most popular varieties. They come in countless colors and fragrances, and the jars provide a safe way to enjoy the beauty of open flames. However, the jars are not always visually appealing, especially when displayed alone. Recycle or repurpose the lids, and use these unique ways to display jar candles. They can look absolutely beautiful.

I always have jar candles on hand. I display and burn them all year long, especially in the evening. I prefer vanilla, mint, baby powder and other soft scents. I also love candles that smell like berries and baked goods, and I have found a number of unique ways to display them. I enjoy combining scents and creating eye catching arrangements.

Display the Jars on a Mirrored Tray

Mirrors and candles are a beautiful combination. The mirrors double the amount of light each jar emits, and they reflect it in a unique and creative way. When seeking unique ways to display jar decor, consider placing them on a mirrored tray. They will look more elegant on a mirrored tray.

Outfit a Hollow Candle with a Votive Cup

Jar candles sometimes end up with a hollow center that becomes impossible to light. The wax might be low in quality, wicks are often the wrong length, or they have been improperly burned. Jar candles with deep recesses are worth saving. Use them to hold and burn candles in glass votive cups.

Fill Deep Candle Trays with Polished Pebbles

I love deep candle trays, and they are good for holding more than the pillar variety. I have two black metal candle trays, and I have used them to hold jar candles. Surround the jars with small polished pebbles, flat glass marbles, colored aquarium gravel, small shells, fossils or anything eye catching. I purchased teal colored aquarium gravel to surround three white linen-scented candles in graduating sizes. They looked spectacular on my slate sofa table.

Display the Jars with Shades

Another one of the most unique ways to display jar candles is with candle shades. They are designed to fit over jar rims, and they beautifully direct the candlelight. Some candle shades have punched designs that glow when the candles are lit, and others are solid and direct the light to the surface below. I love the look of jar candles with shades. The shades can turn ordinary jar candles into unique beautiful decor.

In any case, always buy top quality jar candles for best results. Also, trim the wicks to ¼ inch before burning candles for the first time, and burn them for at least two hours to set the wax. Contrary to popular belief, it is not necessary to burn a candle for at least fifteen minutes every time. After it is burned for two hours the first time, it can be lit and blown out as often as desired without becoming hollow.
