‘The Walking Dead’: Five Horrible Ways for the Show to End

As a fan of “The Walking Dead,” I am hoping for a long run for the show. I know the end of the show will be inevitable at some point as all good shows eventually will have to come to an end. Speculation of how the show finale is something I have recently considered and came up with five horrible ways for the show to close. Hopefully, these are not considered by the creators.

No Renewal

The worst way for “The Walking Dead” to end would be for it to be cancelled or not be renewed after a strong cliffhanger. This is a common way for shows to end, but I would hope we would all have the chance to gain some type of closure with the characters. We have come so far in such a short amount of time; being tossed to the side would leave many fans with a bad taste and begging for a movie to close the show.

Merle Stands Alone

After Rick and the crew have found an area which appears secure and well-stocked, we hear gunfire and see the characters dropping like flies. This continues until all of the survivors have been reduced to a pile of dead. The camera pans until we can see a man standing with a gun. The close-up comes and we see it is Merle enacting his revenge.

Secluded Problem

The crew stumbles across an active military group which is trying to clear out all of the walkers. We find that the zombie infestation is only secluded to the locations and track the characters have taken. A reduced scope for the infestation would be a letdown as with all of the radio contact Rick had tried to make, it would have been odd that he never heard mention from anyone else.

Rick’s Dream

Rick wakes up seeing all white with shadows in the distance. As his eyes adjust, we see Shane and Lori standing over his body with a ceiling above them. The camera pans out to see that Rick is back in his hospital room. All of the events of “The Walking Dead” were the dreams of a police officer who had been shot.

The Other Dream

Lori wakes up in a dark bedroom. We hear a male voice asking “Did you have the same dream again?” She replies that it was and she needs to try to figure out how to shake it. She turns over to see Shane in bed next to her and they both smile. The screen goes blank and we are left tossing remotes at the TV over the finale of “The Walking Dead.”
