Most of the country is experiencing very warm weather. The hot weather not only takes a toll on us, but also on our cars. However, there are some things you can do to help your car get through the dog days of summer whether you are driving a husky old waggin, a tricked out vet or a mixed breed.
If your engine has a tendency to paws, growl, is whining or running ruff, one of your spark plugs might be going a stray. If you have not replaced them in awhile, do so. If your air conditioner is barely panting, check the compressor. If it is barking, it is trying to speak to you about replacing it.
Next, check the pointer on your temperature gauge. If it is showing that it is hot, look under the hood to see if any fluids are drooling from your coolant system. Also, check to see if any of the belts are chewed up. If so, fix the problem. Otherwise, your baby will get overheated and you might have to go for a long walk to fetch some water.
Now, check the struts on your car and also check your brakes and brake pads for any signs of wear. Faulty struts, brakes or pads that stick could cause your car to roll over and play dead. If you are not a do-it-yourselfer, just bring your little princess to the pet clinic for a complete check-up from nose to tail and then let them groom her.
You should make sure to give your car a bath weekly to get rid of all the accumulated dirt and debris. Use a soft cloth to clean off all of those pesky critters from the snout of your car and from the pupils of your headlights. And, giving it a good smooth coat of wax regularly will protect it from the harsh rays of the summer sun.
If you take care of your car, it will treat you like a true champion and take care of you fur a very long time. Otherwise, it might bite you in the end. If that happens, you will be in the dog house and have to ride a greyhound to work.
