The Devil Made Me Do It

The devil made me do it, he said with a grin.

He knew I liked the challenge and that I liked

to win.

But the devil didn’t understand that by losing I would win,

Giving up my selfishness and all that I had been.

Sometimes you need a partner, Just someone to help you through.

Someone to gently show that there’s more to life than you.

I didn’t know if I could do it but the devil? He was wrong,

In opening my own heart, I found where I belong.

So if you want to beat him, too, and want to show he’s done,

Give your heart to others and you’ll know that you have won.
