Taylor Lautner Talks Pre-Twilight Innocence with Vman

Putting his charming good looks on display, Taylor Lautner landed the cover of the Vman magazine’s Archetype issue.

Having hit newsstands on September 1st, the Jacob Black heartthrob posed for a black and white shoot with photographer Steven Klein while talking about “Twilight” and life away from the big screen.

Excerpts from the interview are as follows:

On his pre-Twilight innocence:
“I hadn’t explored much besides Michigan and California. When I am traveling the world promoting the films I say I am on vacation, but it’s not really true, I guess – because when I go to a beautiful city I spend the whole time in a hotel room and then I am back on a plane to the next place.”

On working with best friends Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart:
“It was really helpful that all of us were going through the same thing at the same time. I think if we didn’t have that sort of relationship it would have been tough. It would have felt pretty lonely. Because when you are filming for these Breaking Dawn movies, we were filming for seven months – and if you’re there alone the whole time even with the cast members, like on a day off, or on weekends, you’d go nuts.”

On his away-from-the-spotlight life:
“If I’m not filming, I’m promoting, and if it wasn’t Twilight, it was a different movie, so it got really busy. But yeah, no, I, you know, I hang out with my friends, family, and kind of just – I don’t even know. It’s like, when I am not filming, it seems like – I don’t even know what I do.”

Though he’s been hard at work promoting his latest project, the mystery/drama “Abduction,” Taylor Lautner still found the time to rave about his pal Kristen Stewart and her new role as Snow White.

While chatting with E! News, the 19-year-old heartthrob couldn’t help but gush about his “Twilight” co-star, in which he said Kristen is “going to be cool and edgy and dark” while adding that he thinks her lead in “Snow White and the Huntsmen” is “really exciting.”

Not to be left out, Taylor also commented on his “Abduction” cast member, Lily Collins , who stars in yet another rendition of “Snow White.”

“I can root for both of them. They’re so different… Lily’s also going to be great, but in a completely different feel,” Lautner explained.

Hitting theaters on September 23rd, “Abduction” is “centered on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website.”
