Super Bowl 46 Aka Super Bowl 42 Rematch: NYG Vs NE

I think I was as elated as my father, a proud lifelong New York Giants fan, that his Big Blue get to take another crack as the NFC contender in the biggest football game of the year, with the AFC side of the ring holding back the New England Patriots. This IS considered a rematch in the mind of Tom Brady – he wants Ring Number 4 and payback for last time.

We all know how the last one ended. One lousy Brady pass was picked off in the end zone and changed the course for the 2007 Patriots joining the 1972 Miami Dolphins on Mount Undefeated. Maybe this time he’ll make sure his receiver’s not covered and gets the ball in the pocket. No mountains on the line this time, but certainly his reputation (and contract) and maybe his pride.

Deja Vu: In January 2008, Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes won the game with a perfect field goal attempt right through the goalpost for Big Blue against the Green Bay Packers in overtime. He’s the hero again in 2012 and has proven his worth to the coaching and administrative staff with these 4 words: this guy’s a keeper. I’m sure with the NFL Draft coming up, people are going to be asking the Giants about him and whether he’s available in a trade or other detailed transaction.

Super Bowl 46: THE game in 2012. Let the rematch begin.

Good luck to both teams and may the best team win. *cough* GO BIG BLUE! *cough*
