As the sun sets on another perfect summer day, I cannot help but recall those summer days of youth
Down the long winding road
We wander towards our summer retreat
The road has now turned to dirt
We are getting close
Mom, dad, sis and me
Riding in the old station wagon
My hair matted down with sweat
The hot sun beating through the window
Unloading the car
Clothes, games and bathing suits
Summertime and the living was easy
Sitting out on the long wooden dock
Listening to the frogs croak
Fishing pole extended
Waiting for a bite
Summers are long indeed
Yet, not nearly long enough
But those memories last a lifetime
