Do Not Panic

Report Any Charge Cards Stolen
Canceling charge cards right away after theft is a sure way to protect any balances you may have. It is ideal to store all of your charge card phone numbers in a safe plat at home or in your cell phone. That way, you will have easy and swift access to them. The sooner you report the card/s stolen the better. Also, do not ever write your pin numbers down in your wallet. It is easy access for a thief to withdraw cash from an ATM machine.

Report To The Police
It is always a good idea to report any stolen items to the police. That way, they will have it on file if any future occurrences come up. Even if you do not know who the thief is directly, you can still make a police report.

Report Important Documents
Documents such as a social security card and driver’s license may have been stolen along with your wallet. Report these items stolen to the DMV. That way, if the thief uses your identity for anything, there will be a record for the incident.
