Lordsofpain.net reports that former WWE Champion “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels is penciled in as the special guest referee for The Undertaker vs Triple H at WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami next April. This could be the biggest threat ever to the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania due to the past relationship of Triple H and Michaels.
The Undertaker won his very first WrestleMania match back in 1991 at WrestleMania VII after pinning veteran Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka. Taker never looked back as he followed that win with victories over Jake “the Snake” Roberts at WrestleMania VIII, Giant Gonzalezs at WrestleMania IX, King Kong Bundy at WrestleMania XI, Diesel ( Kevin Nash) at WrestleMania XII, Sid Vicious at WrestleMania 13, Kane at WrestleMania XIV & XX, Big Bossman at WrestleMania XV, Triple H at WrestleMania X-Seven & XXVII, Ric Flair at WrestleMania X8, Big Show & A-Train at WrestleMania XIX, Randy Orton at WrestleMania 21, Mark Henry at WrestleMania 22, Batista at WrestleMania 23, Edge at WrestleMania XXIV, and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXV & XXVI. Taker’s last three wins may however ultimately be his undoing.
Shawn Michaels became obsessed with ending The Undertaker’s win streak at WrestleMania and so much so that he put his career on the line at WrestleMania XXVI after losing to Taker at WrestleMania XXV a year earlier. After being retired by The Undertaker, The Heartbreak Kid’s best friend Triple H took up the fight to end the streak. Triple H and Shawn Michaels were formerly a part of two of wrestling’s greatest factions- D-Generation X ( on WWE TV ) and the legitimate backstage faction known as The Klique. Triple H is also scheduled to put his career on the line at WrestleMania XXVIII as Shawn Michaels previously did. Shawn Michaels could be the wild card in which WWE superstar comes out on top in this high stakes match up at WrestleMania XXVIII.
