Pop star Rihanna has never been one to shy from public attention. Considering that she is one of the most popular stars in pop music, it’s kind of her job to stay in the public eye. Well, these days she’s taking that job requirement quite seriously. If buzz was directly related to square inches of skin shown in a three month window, Rihanna would win easily. The singer has been flaunting her figure all over the place recently, and we have links to prove it.
Filming a Video in Bangor, Northern Ireland
Rihanna was recently seen filming her latest music video in a wheat field in Bangor, Northern Ireland wearing a few skimpy outfits,including a see-through mesh top and a bikini seemingly made of three bandannas. As Bangor is a small town just outside of Belfast, the sight of a major pop-star in a couple of different tiny outfits in a wheat field caused quite a stir. The stir became even bigger when the owner of the wheat field, a local alderman and farmer named Alan Graham asked the star to stop filming on his property. “I thought it was inappropriate. I requested them to stop and they did,” he explained. He also explained that he had no idea who the singer of such songs as “S&M” was when Rihanna’s representatives asked to use his property. “I didn’t know who was coming. If the name ‘Rihanna’ had been mentioned, well, no disrespect but it wouldn’t have meant anything,” he explained.
Kadooment Day in Barbados
The Bajan (that’s the term for someone from Barbados, by the way) singer went back to her Caribbean home recently for the annual celebration. For those unfamiliar, Kadooment Day is a traditional celebration from the colonial days to commemorate the end of the brutal sugar cane harvesting process. Kadooment Day usually involves a lot of raunchy dancing, drinking and elaborate costumes, that somehow have way more fabric above the head than beneath the neck. Think Mardi Gras in New Orleans, but bigger, less watery beer, more alcohol and far, far more awesome. Well, Rihanna went home, and she went all the way in…so much so that most of the photos are most likely not safe for work. I must admit, it’s quite refreshing to see a popular artist unabashedly embrace their cultural roots, though.
Lap-dancing in Concerts
Giving a lucky audience member an up-close performance is old hat in the world of sexy pop stars. Beyonce, R Kelley, and Janet Jackson, among others, have been doing this at shows for years now. Well, Rihanna has been causing quite a stir at her shows with some of her dances for lucky fans. It’s to be expected, at this point, but make an online lingerie model the recipient of a dance from Rihanna, and then you have something different. Again, the video and pictures are almost certainly not safe for work.
Ultimately, Rihanna seems to be living her life, and having a blast, and we can’t fault her for that, can we?
