Proactive Enviromentalist Solutions to Land Pollution in Buffalo, NY

One sunny Saturday afternoon, on the corner of Elmwood and Hertel, I stumbled across an abandoned warehouse, and guess what I saw, a cemetery of televisions, rubber and industrial waste, “Oh beautiful land I contemplated !” fortunately, in the midst of all this decay, I noticed a purple wild flower growing amidst the junk.

Failures

We are custodians of our planet given to us by God, but apparently, we are not doing a good job. Walking around the abandoned warehouse, observing the discarded pallets and metal, an eyesore to the heart I felt the pain.

My solution

At that point, I decided to start writing and taking pictures, can you imagine that America the beautiful used to be unpolluted and natural, such that you could drink from the great lakes, well, now take a walk along Lake Erie, and that water looks a landfill.

The Flower

I then contrasted the beautiful flower to the rusty landfill. The moral to the experience, nature is ever springing with life and can heal itself, if a flower can grow in that toxic land dump without our help, then how many flowers will grow if we clean up the world, our garden.

This is a call to act, let us clean up our planet. The natural world has shown us its regenerative capabilities. Start by a simple act; put that gum wrapper in the trash can.
