Darkened clouds roll swiftly by
As hopes for rain fall from the sky
In drops of sweetness all abound
These raindrops dance upon the ground
The soil parched
The earth so dry
This present blessing from the sky
Eluded us for far too long
And now it’s raining ever strong
This rain will heal the earth indeed
Then help to germinate the seed
That grows and covers and feeds us all
We’re praying so much more will fall
And when it does we’ll say a prayer
Of thanks because we know He’s there
Providing all we need to live
It teaches us to share and give
And as the earth starts drinking in
We look to Him to walk from sin
Because we know He paid the price
With outstretched arms of sacrifice
