Nu-Image Star Studded Film ‘The Expendables 2′ Auditions and Casting Calls

The sequel to the mega-hit ensemble action film “The Expendables” is nearing the start of filming in October, 2012. The casting director is currently casting supporting roles and smaller speaking roles, and the extras casting company is registering extras to work on the film. The original film had a budget of $80 million and made over $274 million dollars at the box office.

“The Expendables 2″ has a lineup of major action movie veterans that includes Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Wills, John Travolta, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, and Jean-Claude Van Damme. It also has some more recent stars such as Randy Couture, Jason Statham, Terry Crews, and Steve Austin.

Sylvester Stallone has decided not to direct or write the script this time around, and stick to acting only. Simon West will direct “The Expendables 2″ from a screenplay written by David Agosto and Ken Kaufman. Jason Constantine and Jon Feltheimer will executive produce for Lionsgate. Boaz Davidson will executive produce for Nu-Image Films while Avi Lerner will produce for Nu-Image. John Thompson will oversee production for Millennium Films, and Kevin King Templeton will co-produce.

The vast majority of the 14-week production for “The Expendables 2″ will take place in and around Bulgaria, in addition to locations in Paris, Moscow and China. Nu Boyana Film Studios, which is owned by Nu Image Films, will be the main filming location and is the largest film production studio in Bulgaria, 14 stages and outdoor sets from NY to Paris and ancient Rome. 180 feature films have been made there. Cast and crew who do not hold Bulgarian or European Union passports require a work permit which is easy to obtain.
