Need a Larger Bedroom? It’s Easy!

We’d all like to have a bigger room. Sometimes it just seems as if we have too much stuff and not enough space to put it all. This leads to clutter that only up our stress levels and down our spirits. Fortunately, there are some easy solutions to this problem.

Your Bed: Quite often, we’re guilty of having too big of a bed. Especially if you have your room all to yourself and you’re the only one sleeping there. On top of that, most of the time we place our bed in the very middle of the room. This turns our to be an insufficient spot. It takes up a lot if space and there is always that one side of the bed that is used way less often and ignored. The easiest solution is having the adequate size bed. Make sure it’s not too big, but don’t cheat yourself either and get one too small. The best placement for your bed is often more towards the side of the room, maybe even with the side of the bed against the wall. This leaves the middle of the room and other walls entirely open, rather than having a huge bed take up the center leaving areas along the wall cramped. The Floor: Keep it clean! Leaving clothes and clutter on the floor makes the room look drastically smaller. If you want the room to look as big as possible you simply have to keep the floor open and clean. Storage: Be creative with your storage. If you have a small bedroom a good place to store some of your belongings is under your bed. Just get yourself some storage containers that can slide right under your bed and you’ve doubled the use of that space. Vertical shelving is very useful for cramped rooms too. It takes advantage of the vertical space rather then the scarce floor space.
