Myrtle Beach, SC Christmas Parades and Holiday Events for 2011

While in Myrtle Beach during the holiday season, residents and tourists alike can have their pick of a variety of Christmas themed events to enjoy while spending Christmas at the beach. From colorful Christmas parades to Breakfast with Santa, there are a number of holiday festivities in and around Myrtle Beach, SC that are fun for celebration seekers of any age.

Conway

Conway, SC is about a 20 minute drive from the center of Myrtle Beach. The Conway Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday December 10, 2011. The parade starts at 10am on 16 th Avenue between Main and Sherwood streets. After the parade, spend the rest of the afternoon sightseeing or Christmas shopping around the historic downtown area. Admission to the parade is free.

Surfside

The annual Christmas Parade for the town of Surfside will start at 2pm on Saturday December 10, 2011. There are bleachers and reviewing stands available for spectators. The bleachers are located at Ocean Drive and Surfside Drive. There are more than 100 entries for this year’s parade which begins at Ocean Boulevard and 10 th Avenue South. Admission to the parade is free.

Surfside

The annual Breakfast with Santa event will be held at Ryan’s Steakhouse on Saturday December 17 th from 9am until 10:30am in Surfside. The town of Surfside is about a fifteen minute drive from the center of Myrtle Beach. Children ages 10 and under get a picture with Santa and a bag of candy. Breakfast is free for all children. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 843-650-9548.

Myrtle Beach

Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach is presenting their annual festival of trees from November 1, 2011 until December 31, 2011. The event is held inside the aquarium and has more than 50 trees on display. Each tree is decorated to represent various places throughout the United States. In the outside plaza is a 20 foot tall tree that has been decorated in red, white and blue. The tree representing South Carolina is decorated to represent the Clemson Tigers and the SC Gamecocks with stars, wreaths, sea shell sand golf balls. Admission to the festival of trees which includes aquarium admission is $21.99 for adults, $10.99 for children ages 6-11 and $3.99 for children ages 2-5.

Murrells Inlet

Photos with Santa are available at the Inlet Square Mall . Santa will available for photos from November 20 until December 24 from 11am until 7pm. Pets can have their photos taken with Santa as well on December 12 and 19 from 5pm until 8pm at the Inlet Square Mall. The mall is located at 10125 Hwy 17 Bypass in Murrells Inlet. Murrells Inlet is about a 20 minute drive from the center of Myrtle Beach.
