Monclair & Manassas Park (Blooms Crossing) Communities Makes the Top 100 List to Live

A Great Place To Raise Children

Residents of Prince William County’s Montclair and Manassas Park (Blooms Crossing Community), Virginia, have much to be proud of in their areas. According to CNN/Money Magazine’s 2011 “Best Places to Live in America” lists two of the county’s communities as listed in the top 100 places to live. We, who live in Prince William County, should be proud of our local areas. The magazine’s list puts Montclair at 35 and Manassas Park (Blooms Crossings Community), at 56 on the top of the 100 list.

I, myself, live in the general area of Blooms Crossing, and I must say, “I’ve lived in , various areas of the Northern Virginia Area and I’ve found this area to be a fantastic community in every respect.” The area is expanding and the doctors, hospital, shopping areas, airport, and other accommodations in the area are great and with a close access to any area you may want to visit. Old Town Manassas, in itself, is a beautiful historical town and the other interesting historical landmarks make it a place to be proud of and one others want to visit and enjoy.

CNN Money/Magazine ranks towns with populations under 50,000 based on a variety of measures which include: job growth, median family income, school test scores, median age, high temperatures, home prices, and crime rates.

According to the Money Magazine report, Montclair, has a population of 19,800, “offering residents plenty of commutable jobs plus a lot of wide-open spaces.” The magazine attributed Montclair’s, “108- acre man-made lake, the communities activities like the Montclair Day, Fourth of July fireworks, and other area attractions,” as an attractor for making this years list.

Also, the magazine described Manassas Park as being a “tight-knit group of neighbors and their school system, rated by the Center for American Progress , ranked as the most efficient in the region this year.” The report also called the city
“a more affordable alterative to neighboring towns in Fairfax County, Virginia, and Montgomery County, Maryland.”

If you lived in this area, you would see and know why the Magazine’s news came as “no” surprise to its area local residents and officials…it did come as a shock to others though. Since I live in a close adjoining neighbor proximity, it certainly does not surprise me one bit — I’ve lived in some of the finest areas of Fairfax County, and I’ll have to admit, I like it right here as any other place I’ve lived.

I’m sure Manassas Park, city officials and residents took extreme pride in seeing their city on this 100 list. It’s a great area to raise children and to have a down home atmosphere feeling. It makes me proud!!
