Alexi was a normal girl in a small town. She worked in the little family shopping mart in the town of Guild. Now, Guild was a typical small town of 9,000 people. The main work in Guild was farming.
One day, while Alexi was working, a man came in who had been plowing his fields and his name was Sam. He told her that he had seen the oddest thing. Sam went on to tell her about how he was doing his job and came upon this box. The box was a rather interesting box he said because it had silver stars and gems on it. He couldn’t help it to stop plowing and pick up the box.
Now, Sam was not the most reliable source in the town when it came to real news. He wasn’t the best person to be around after dark either. However, Alexi couldn’t stop wondering about the box. “What was in it?” she asked Sam. He only replied with you can see if you come with me to the barn after you get off work. Alexi had a decision to make go with Sam after dark or never know what was in the beautiful box that Sam described if it was real that is.
Alexi told Sam that she would go with him to the barn to check out the box and see what was inside it. She didn’t get off work until ten o’clock p.m. and it was only noon. Alexi had a lot of time to think about whether or not she made the correct decision. She really didn’t know why the people of Guild didn’t like Sam he really hadn’t made her feel uncomfortable or frightened. In fact, the more she thought about it she started to think Sam was kind of cute. As her shift went on, Alexi found herself longing for ten o’clock to come around. Finally it was nine thirty p.m. she has half an hour left and Sam would be coming to pick her up to take her to the barn with him to see what was in the box he had found earlier that day.
Ten o’clock came, and Alexi saw the glimmer of headlights from Sam’s old Chevy pickup truck. Now, was going to tell her if Sam was really crazy or if he was just as sweet as she had come in the past few hours to feel he was. Alexi hopped up into the cab of Sam’s truck and they took off.
In about fifteen minutes they had arrived at the barn, now, was the moment of truth for Alexi. Sam turned off the truck, pulled the key out of the ignition, and looked over at Alexi, “Are you ready?” he said. She shook her head yes and they stepped out of the truck. Sam was the first one to the barn door and he looked at Alexi and could see the fear in her eyes. “You ok?” he inquired. She shook her head yes again. As the two walked into the bard Sam placed his arm over her shoulder as in to say its ok I’m right here not going to let anything bad happen to you.
The two finally made it up to the hayloft where Sam had hidden the box earlier that day, and as Sam uncovered the box Alexi let out a sigh of relief. Sam smiled and pulled her close to him. Alexi was in awe over the box it was beautiful made of silver with Amethyst, Peridot, and Blue Topaz gemstones set into it. “Wow, it’s beautiful!” she said to Sam. He smiled and said to her, “Not nearly as beautiful as you.” The two then opened the box to find that inside it was more gemstones and diamonds!
Sam and Alexi never told a soul of the box. The gemstones are still all at the couple’s home one of which you will find on Alexi’s left finger a three carat canary yellow diamond set in platinum. Anytime they are asked if it is real Alexi just replies no we found it, and then giggles. Now wouldn’t it be nice to find a true treasure like that love and money!
