Iodine Clock Oscillation

Purpose: to prepare three aqueous solutions for the BR iodine clock oscillation reaction, including solid-in-liquid and solution preparation by dilution. Also to study the BR reaction and characterize it by varying the reaction conditions. To gain practice converting between concentration units.
Procedure: Calculate the amounts of reagents and solvents needed to prepare 50 ml of Ch2COOH2 in .02 M MnSO4, 50 mL of .2m KIO3 in .08 M h2SO4, 100 mL of 1.0 M H202. Prepare these solutions. Simultaneously pour 20.0 mL of H202 and 10 mL of the other two solutions into a beaker and add 3% starch. Time the color change, and decide what other changes in reaction conditions you will try. Do them and record observations.
Cautions: Dispose all leftover solutions as directed by instructor.
