There are a few things you always must have on you in case of a flat tire. A spare tire, a carjack, and a wrench to loosen and tighten the lug nuts on the tires. The first thing you want to do is take your wrench and just loosen the lug nuts on a flat tire. You don’t want to take them off, you’re just loosing them a bit so you can easily unscrew them when the car is jacked up. Then jack your car up in the area of your flat tire.

Once the car safely jacked up in the air and the flat tire is off the ground a bit, take off all five lug nuts. Slide off the flat tire and replace it with a spare. Screw the lug nuts on to the tire so that they are in place but do not tighten them all away. After that, lower your car completely and then use your foot to tighten the lug nuts all the way by stepping on the wrench as you tighten the nuts. Make sure that every one is tight and secure. Put your flat tire and your tools back into your trunk and you’re all set!
