How I Easily Repaired My Bookshelf

Repairing in your home is a must either if it’s a simple repair or a tough one. My DIY home repair project was repairing my bookshelf. It was flimsy after a while because the bookshelf was like ten years old and it wasn’t really built for staying that long. It was piled with a lot of books and I noticed it after buying another bookshelf that the boards were buckling. The bookshelf I bought was too small for all my books so I knew I had to repair this one. It was a simple repair and this is what I used and what I did.

What I used:

The base of the bookshelf and that’s all I needed to fix this simple problem.

What I did step by step:

1. Took all the books out

Now were talking at least I would say at least thirty or more books on this shelf. So it wasn’t much fun taking all of them out.

2. Took out the boards that were buckling

Really it took me awhile to decide what to do because I didn’t have enough room. I took out the boards first and decided what to do with them.

3. Piled them up to the top

So I was a little lost at where to put all my books but decided to stack them one by one. I’ll admit at first the piles fell until I stacked them correctly.

4. Finished

While I could have added new boards by just making them I decided that it was large without them and all of them fit nicely.

Those where my four steps and here are some tips if you want to do the same thing:

1. First make sure that you stack the books correctly and don’t get sloppy about it. If you do well of course they will fall done.

2. If you notice your boards of your bookshelf buckling don’t pass it off because one day they will break and you’ll have a mess.

3. If you don’t want to pile them just in the base make your own shelves. I though thought the books fit better and had more room.

4. Be prepared when looking for a certain title to have to dig. I say that because it will be harder to find a book than before. So be warned.

That’s all you have to do to fix a bookshelf though it may not be for everyone.
