Futurama Episode Review: The Cryonic Woman

Synopsis: When Fry’s girlfriend from 1,000 years earlier is thawed out, she finds she doesn’t fit in so she convinces him to be re-frozen so they can thaw out in the year 4,000.

What I liked about this episode: I think the funniest part about this episode is Leela, Fry and Bender being fired by Planet Express and, because of a mix up with the career chips, Fry getting a job at the cryogenic lab. The way him and Bender kept scaring the people when they woke up was classic.

I also like the part where Fry thinks he and his girlfriend are in the year 4,000; mostly because the episode doesn’t clue you in on the truth until the very end (unlike episodes from other shows that reveal the joke a bit too early).

Having Pauly Shore doing a cameo was also pretty funny in my opinion since I doubt he’ll be an actor many people from other generations will even know about.

What I didn’t like about this episode: The episode gives us a brief description of Fry’s girlfriend so we know she’s bad news. But, I think it would have been better if we were given a few more details about their relationship so it was easier not to like her.

Final Opinion: I’ve seen better episodes from this series but this one was pretty decent and I do recommend watching it at least once.
