Favorite Free iPhone Apps

I have owned my iPhone for almost two years now and over the course of this time there have been many apps come and go, but there have been a handful that I can’t imagine ever having to do without again. Below is a short list of some of my favorite applications and a little about each of them.

1. My Fitness Pal – This is a free application found through the iTunes App store. It is a fantastic way to keep track of everything you eat. I have found almost all restaurant foods and dishes you would fix at home are already in the program. If by some chance there is a food or drink not listed you can always add it to the list. The app also keeps track of the most common or most recent foods and liquids you have entered. The other great feature is you can also enter your exercise in and the app will tell you how many calories you burned and will subtract that from the intake calories to give you the net intake of the day. You can also see the overall daily amount of vitamins, protein, sugar and nutrients you have taken in.

2. YouVersion Bible – This is a free application that has reading plans you can follow, a search feature which allows you to search a specific verse and a bookmark feature to name a few. It also allows you to share any verse or verses you would like with your friends in an easy manner by letting you link your Facebook and Twitter accounts.

3. HootSuite – Is a free application that allows you to link your Twitter and Facebook accounts, even multiple ones if you have them. When you want to send out a message you can type it in, select which account you would like to send it from and press “send.” This application is especially great for saving you time if you want to send the same message from Facebook and Twitter.

4. Kindle – This application is free and allows you to purchase books from Amazon and read them on your telephone. If you have a Kindle, this application will wirelessly sync with the Kindle as well, if you open the application on your computer when you have wireless available it will sync with the application on your computer. I like having all three options available to me so I can read no matter where I am at.

5. Pandora – This application is free and allows you to search for any type of music and it will create a playlist for you. The playlist can be an artist, a genre or particular decade of music. It’s is nice to be able to listen to the music you want to hear when you feel like hearing it, including when that song gets stuck in your head and it’s going to drive you crazy until you hear it.

I find that I use these applications at least once per day if not multiple times per day. If you have tried these, I suggest you check them out, you will be glad you did.
