Making sure your budget works from one year to the next can certainly be a challenge. The key is to shop at just the right time. During September and October most stores often have racks of clearance items, to entice individuals to pick up the last few items from the previous season. There is however plenty of things that you will want to invest your money in during the month of September and October. This is a great time to stock up on items you will need for the following year. Below is a list of the top five items you will want to look for at the store, and stock up on.
Swim Gear
September is the perfect time of year to invest in swim gear. Make sure that the swim gear you purchase is at least one to two sizes bigger for your kids. This way it will fit the following year, since most parents usually know how many clothing sizes their kids will grow within a year’s time. You should be able to find swim gear on clearance for next to nothing. This would also include swim goggles, shoes, and any other accessories that you, or your children would like to have.
Sandals
Some of the styles next year may be different, but when it comes to saving money it does not matter. Most stores like Wal-Mart and Target will put items on sale during this time of year. You should have no problem getting sandals for the entire family during this time. Look for the clearance sections at these stores. Stock up on several sizes for each family member, and make sure that you get at least one or two sizes bigger for the kids.
Shorts
You can really never have enough shorts. You can stock up on them and put them away in a storage bin for use next year. You should even be able to find shorts for the adults as well. Of course since it is the end of the season pickings may be slim, but you are bound to find one, or two that fit.
Grills and gear
Grills also go on sale during this time of year, as well as grilling equipment. Look for grilling utensils and some of the year’s top grills to be on sale. You should have no problem finding these items for at least fifty percent off if not more.
Patio furniture
Patio furniture will also be on clearance during this time. You may not be able to use it much during the Fall season, but you can have a nice, new looking set for the following summer season. You can even store it in a water tight section of your basement or in your garage. Be sure that it is stored away properly.
