Years ago, heading for Bethlehem,
Three wise men followed a star.
Bearing gifts fit only for a King,
They tarried long, traveling far.
And Christmas lights
Bring a sense of contentment,
For just seeing them,
Reminds me of God’s announcement.
To bring the news
Of tidings of peace and good will,
So people both of far and wide
Can find rest for their souls even still.
So as we decorate and put up trimmings,
Let’s remember the Father of lights,
Who strung the first set in eternity’s sky,
To celebrate the birth of Jesus from on high.
