Christmas Cookie Recipes

The moment Christmas is coming; we are excited on what food items to prepare for Christmas Day. There are various food items to choose from that can provide you with a great menu that you and your family can truly enjoy. You would definitely need sweets or desserts in order to satisfy your sweet tooth. With these simple Christmas cookie recipes, you will have an additional food item in your menu.

The first Christmas cookie recipe is the Cream Cookies. The ingredients that are needed are 2 eggs, ½ teaspoon salt, 1 cup of sugar, 2/3 cup of sour cream, ¼ teaspoon baking soda, 1 tablespoon water, 3 cups of flour and raisins. Now we will proceed to the procedure proper, the first step is to beat the eggs and sugar together until they are completely mixed and light, and then add salt. Next is to dissolve the baking soda with water and add it to the sour cream. Add to the first mixture. Sift and add the flour. Mix well and turn onto a floured board or waxed paper. Roll out to about ¼ inch thick, and then cut with any shape of cookie cutters of your choice. Leave them on the greased baking sheet and place a raisin in the center of each cookie. Bake the cookies at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.

The second recipe is the Peanut Cookies. This can be another addition to the sweets that you will serve on Christmas. The ingredients needed are 2/3 cups of sugar, 1 egg, 1/3 cup butter or margarine, 3 tablespoons of milk, 1/3 teaspoon of salt, 1 ½ cups pastry flour, 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder and 1 ½ cups of chopped peanuts.

The first step of the procedure is to cream the sugar and the butter together. Add the egg, well beaten, and the milk. Sift the flour, salt, and the baking powder together. Add 1 cup of chopped peanuts. Add all of this mixture to the first mixture, and then beat all the ingredients thoroughly. Drop the mixture by teaspoons into the greased cookie sheet about 3 inches apart. The cookies will later on spread once bake. Sprinkle the remaining nuts over the cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 to 15 minutes.

The two Christmas cookie recipes can be a lovely addition to any menu during Christmas day. It will be the favorite treat for children and even adults can indulge in the tasty sweets.
