Bye Bye Barney Frank

Barney Frank, a sixteen term Liberal Democrat House representative of the 4th district of Massachusetts is not seeking a seventeenth term. Good riddance to bad rubbish. This makes seventeen Democrats under the Obama administration to either step down or seek other offices. It’s like watching rats jumping off a sinking a ship.

While the Democrat Party downplays the news of Barney Frank’s retirement announcement claiming they are not worried about losing his seat to the Republican Party, they did the same thing with the late Ted Kennedy’s Democrat seat and the former Democrat Congressman Anthony Weiner’s seat which both seats were won by Republican candidates. The Democrat Party also downplayed the 2010 midterm election saying they would retain the majority of the House of Representatives and we know how that turned out.

That doesn’t mean Barney Frank will be replaced by a Republican, but it doesn’t mean he will be replaced by a Democrat either. Time will tell who will replace Barney Frank when the People of the 4th district in Massachusetts cast their votes. But should the People of the 4th district replace the incumbent Democrat with a Republican I won’t be surprised if the Democrat Party downplays it as they did with the 2010 midterm election lost, Ted Kennedy’s and Anthony Weiner’s seats.

If anything, I think that the midterm election of 2010 and the replacing of two Democrat seats with Republicans is a sign of things to come in 2012, because the People witnessing the results of a Democrat controlled Washington doesn’t like what they see.
