Buon Appetito- the Restaurant Whose Title the Staff Wishes Each Customer

While not overly vegan-friendly, this place serves fair, authentic food, for medium-level prices. It strikes me as a decent place to bring a date due to the extensive wine list, atmosphere, professional service, and lower pricing. Of course, I’m sure it is not the best restaurant in Little Italy, but it has good food, probably without a wait most times. If you dine outside, you may be served from the sidewalk, as the outdoor seating area is quite narrow. And before asking what “EVOO,” is, as our waiter said everyone does, realize that it’s “extra virgin olive oil.” Of course, you say. And now you know that whenever you look at a menu where this common-sense abbreviation appears.

I opted for the polenta, which can be served either as a porridge, or in thick blocks. In this case it was the latter. And it was pretty good. Between this and the delicious bread with two dipping sauces, I was quite filled. Next door is a little bottega, under the same management, where you can stop for hors d’ vours or a quick on-the-go dessert.

While your visit here may be your only one, you will find it pretty decent.
