An NFL Undefeated Team Possible but Not Probable

The 1972 Miami Dolphins is the only NFL team that has went to and won the Super Bowl being undefeated. The only team that came close to ousting the Miami Dolphin record is the New England Patriots when they went to Super Bowl XLII undefeated but lost the Super Bowl to the New York Giants. Side note: I however, put an asterisk to the Patriots undefeated season because they got caught cheating, so for me their undefeated season will always be questioned. I don’t care what anybody says, they got caught cheating so all of the New England Patriots achievements they accomplished in the 2007 season in my book are questionable.

As I write this however, the Green Bay Packers are 11-0 on the season. Will, the Green Bay Packers go all the way and end the season unscathed? While possible, it’s not probable because the grand prize of every NFL team is the Super Bowl Trophy. This is why many teams after locking down a playoff berth will pull their starters to keep them healthy for the Playoffs. So while it looks as though the Green Bay Packers can run away with an undefeated season, don’t expect them too.

While I can’t blame teams for wanting to keep their players healthy I can’t help but want to see a team go for the triple crown of football. The undefeated regular season, the undefeated post-season and the Super Bowl win.
