Amazing grace indeed I find
When he whose hand creates my mind
Upon me comes to end the lone-
Some road of travel I have shown
And guides me straight through paths that used to wind.
‘Twas grace that lead me here to thee
Your presence now is more to me
Than gold and silver thus combined
Or clothes of splendor intertwined
Majestic is your holy stain to see.
Through many dangers of this life
I’ve seen myself come through the strife
But not without my savior’s lead
Had I alone attempt to see
Entrapped my soul would stray into the knife
When we’ve been there in heaven long
And glory’s light does swell my song
A thousand voices will combine
To praise your holy name divine
And never more will darkness quell my tounge
