The Holiday toast should always be,
Of good cheer for you and me.
We should toast to the past year,
And hope next year has nothing to fear.
We look back and see the days,
Gone by as if in a flash or haze.
We saw the months go quickly by,
We saw our friends get born and die.
We stop and pause and view the year,
And want our loved ones always near.
On January 1st we view,
The new year will now ensue.
