5 Ways to Save Money on Beer

Beer is delicious. Beer is refreshing. A nice, cold and smooth beer is what many of us look forward to after a hard day of work. But beer can get expensive. So how do you save money on beer? How can you make that beer drinking habit you have less expensive? We all have our bad habits, and sometimes these habits can be financially crippling. The best way to address this is to either quit, which can be tough, or to find ways to save money or cut back. Have at a look at five ways to save money on beer.

Option 1: Buy cheaper beer. If you currently drink Corona all the time, consider purchasing something like Miller High Life. Purchasing beer that is a few bucks cheaper per 12-pack will save you money in the long run. If you count, it could save you hundreds of dollars a year. In these tough financial times, finding and keeping jobs are tough. Don’t damage that wallet any more than you have to. Go with cheap beer that is comparable in flavor to your current beer of choice.

Option 2: Purchase large amounts at one time. Buy wholesale at a large warehouse store. Beer is cheaper if you buy it in larger quantities. This will save you gas money and money on the beer. You will not have to make as many trips to the store and the price of the beer will be cheaper.

Option 3: Cut down what you drink. I know this can be tough, but cutting down the amount you drink by 25 percent or so will be helpful to your wallet and to you liver.

Option 4: Buy less beer at public sporting events, local activities, bars and clubs. Only buy the cheapest of beers at these local events. We all know the beers are most expensive at these types of things, so refrain from ordering too much. Try sneaking a few into the event or simply drink your fill beforehand.

Option 5: Buy beer in states that have lower alcohol taxes than others. States like New Hampshire, Indiana and others have low alcohol taxes. Check nearby states to see where you can get the cheaper deals.
